Board of Directors
The Dubuque Montessori School Board of Directors is comprised of parents of children who are currently enrolled in the school and local community members. The role of the Board of Directors is to fulfill the school's mission, to be an advocate in the community, to create goodwill, and to develop/secure monetary resources. The Board of Directors also approves the annual budget and monitors the overall financial health of the school. They establish policy and goals in conjunction with DMS Staff and Board Committees while leaving day-to-day management of the school up to the administration.
Meetings
Board meetings are held 11-12 times per year at 6:45pm on the 3rd Monday of each month, with the exception of April, when the meeting is on the 4th Monday of the month. Parents are always welcome to attend meetings. The October and April meetings are designated as "Parent Meetings" at which time the Board of Directors make an extra effort to invite parents and give comprehensive updates of Board activity.
